Jurassic Monster Pack v1.0

Jurassic is a monsterpack that comes with 9 new models of dinosaurs that were back in the jurassic age. Jurassic is a free to use monsterpack that you can add to your maps or mods.

Some of the classes included are a T-rex, velociraptor, triceratops, pteradactyl and several others.

Due to their leathery skin these guys are tough. Best you get your running boots on or take the chance you become one of the hunted.

Jurassic is compatiable with both Unreal 1 and UT99.

These models came from the jurassic224 mod done back in 1999 but were never given life (scripts) or sounds and time seemed to pass them by un-noticed. (seemed like a waste)
Thanks to Thuglife for discovering them and requesting they be made (BeyondUnreal Forums) or they would still be lifeless.

Feel free to add these Dinos to your mods or maps providing you include the following enclosed information... Or Include this readme. However the contents of this package may not be changed, edited or alterered in any way shape or form.

To Install:

Place all the files included in the zip into your Unreal or UnrealTounament system folder

if your running a server add to your Unreal.ini or UnrealTounament.ini the following line
serverpackages=jurassic

Included in the jurassic zip is another mod "MonsterSpawn"
MonsterSpawn will spawn up to 20 monsters in any map Deathmatch Co-op CTF etc etc. The dinosaurs would be better placed in a map by a mapper, but as this may never happen I wrote MonsterSpawn so at least the Dinosaurs could be used without having to summon them. MonsterSpawn will spawn *ANY* monster of your choice, modded or Unreal's default monsters.
For more information about MonsterSpawn see the readme included in the MonsterSpawn zip.

If you intend to use the monsterspawn mutator, monsterpawn should be installed first (monsterspawn203.zip). Then unzip Jmonsterspawn.zip into you SYSTEM folder. This adds a monsterspawn list that has dinosaurs already added, otherwise you have to add them to the lists yourself.

Monsterspawn is a seperate mod and doesnt require jurassic to be used.

The smaller version of the tyrannosaur was made due to the size of this model, basically its huge and has various problems trying to get through or around obstacles. If you have a map that has a lot of decoration or and tight spaces the smaller ver may be better suited. Not suited to hilly maps either as it may appear to be off the ground in some parts.

The Velociraptor are pack animals, for best results should be placed in packs of 3-5 or more, these guys communicate to each other to a certain extent and need the pack environment to do so.

Brachiosaur and Tyrannosaur are probably too big for most maps and really require a nice flat large area. Tyrannosaur could make a monsterhunt boss for example.

Gallimimus and brachiosaur are friendly towards players unless you get them mad.
However the rest are highly aggressive and given the chance will attack other monsters if they happen to get in the way.

The Parasaurolophus if set to bHasRangedattack will spit rocks as a projectile, as people requested that they be made to be realistic this was scrapped, but as the code was already in there was no need to remove it. default = false

Brachiosaurs will spawn a baby if bhasbaby is set to true in the map, the bababy will attempt to stay close to its mother

The Pteradactyl will start wandering as soon as the level starts unless bWaitAtStartofGame is set to true.

The dinos would probablly look best in a jungle swampy type map. If someone decides to do this please let me know at the BUF forums, id like to see the end result :)

Dinos have a lot of health and may require extra ammo of health pickups

Well hope you enjoy

Cheers
