UT2004
This is the framework for the UT2004 page that the wiki will need soon – perhaps sooner than you think
Unreal Tournament 2004, sequel to UT2003.
The Official [Unreal Tournament 2004] web site.
UT2004 is created by: Epic Games and [Digital Extremes]. Produced by: [Atari] formerly known as Infogrames.

Retail Versions
UT2004 will come in two packages for purchase.
- Regular retail – this comes on 4 CD's, and includes the full version of the game.
- Special Edition retail – this comes on 2 DVD's, and includes the full version of the game, plus some extras that modders are going to love. For example, all the VTM's from [3DBuzz] will be included. Epic was not specific about what else would be on the DVD's, that was the only thing that was confirmed (...or the only thing that I was in the room to hear about –HSDanClark)

Discussion
HSDanClark: I threw this page together based off the UT2003 page. The system requirements are, AFAIK, the same for both games, with the exception of the hard drive space. This page may seem premature, but many people got to play UT2004 at Unreal University and can start adding a bit of content now. That, plus, we may see a demo in a month or so! Mark Rein said two weeks, but I'm pretty sure he was joking
Daid303: Are you sure the system requirements are the same? Simulating those vehicles takes quite some CPU cycles.
El Muerte TDS: UT2004 has complete new vehicle code
Foxpaw: You are correct that the simulation of vehicles takes CPU time, but that just slows down your framerate, it won't adversely affect the simulation. In theory. Also, vehicles don't use THAT much resources if they are minding their own business, only if they are ramming stuff or other such chicanery. Also, I don't think that the vehicles are going to play that large of a role. They're in Onslaught, but I don't think Epic wants to make UT into Tribes.
HSDanClark: As far as I know, the reqs are mostly the same, but they may not be in the end. Given that there isn't as much engine difference between 2004 and 2003 as there was between UT1 and 2003, I don't think the differences will be too great though. According to the team at Unreal University, the game has been optimized so that the inclusion of vehicles will not skyrocket the system reqs – even in online play. CliffyB made it a point to mention that the team understands that nobody will play the game unless the vehicles work well online. Also, and I mentioned this on the Mod Ideas/CarJack page, the only gametype that supports vehicles straight out of the box is Onslaught. Putting vehicles in other gametypes will require modding or at the very least, making new maps with vehicle spawn points.
Foxpaw: I would think (I hope) that all that would be necessary would be making new maps with vehicle spawn points. Speaking of vehicles, did UT2004 have bot-driven vehicles? I was disappointed that the Bulldog didn't support bots, even though it was very easy to add bot support to them.
HSDanClark: With 50 machines and 250+ people, none of the matches I played had bots in them at all. If bots can't use vehicles then they will be completely useless in Onslaught games, since you pretty much need to use vehicles to get around such huge maps. My guess is that they can use them, but it's just a guess
James Kilton: Last I heard, Epic mentioned that the bots are "quite capable" when it comes to vehicles So I'm not very worried about that.
